Overview of Medicare Supplement Plans
Insurance companies recognized long ago that there were opportunities to produce policy lines to support Medicare beneficiaries and so they proposed the idea to the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (the governing body over Medicare), and thereby created a whole new industry to support those receiving Medicare.
Thee policies they created are called Medicare “Supplement Plans”.
There are many providers of these plans, but from company to company, the cool part is that the benefits to the beneficiaries are virtually the SAME for a particular plan type (there are many types of course). In other words, once you decide on the benefits that you need in a Medicare Supplement plan, choosing WHICH company to provide that plan to you becomes a little less complex.
You can basically pick the plan that fits into your budget, or choose, whom you feel has the best track record for customer service.
Your Cool agent represents some of the biggest companies in this industry and has access to virtually any plan that strikes your fancy.
While there are MANY TYPES of Medicare Supplement Plan types, by far, the most popular chosen is the “F” plan. Watch the short video below for a discussion about how an “F” plan operates. It’s commonly referred to in the industry as “The Cadillac of Coverage” because it basically pays 100% of what Medicare does not pay for Medicare covered expenses.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not suggesting that the “F” Plan is right for you, in your specific circumstances. It takes sitting down with a Cool agent to make that determine that. This video was simply a recorded presentation by Todd Oldfield, one of our Cool agents, who is licensed to help Medicare Beneficiaries understand their options.
